City & Guilds and St. Johns Ambulance Certification develops staff potential
On Friday 26th September 08, eleven members of the SouthBank Training team from across all four centres, undertook the St. Johns Ambulance ‘First Aid for the Appointed Persons in the workplace’ training course.
Allowing all the participants to be the appointed persons in their located centre, SouthBank staff were presented with their certificates on Friday 14th November (pictured).
“The course was informative and an up-to-date source for gaining skills in first aid in the workplace.”
Staff also gained recognition after completing the City & Guilds PTLLS qualification. The Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector award is a valuable level 3 qualification that prepares all candidates to undertake teaching in the post 16 educational sector.
In June, five members of the SouthBank team completed the award, with a ceremony at Ashby Link Adult Education Centre on 22nd September to award all participants with their certificates.
“The course has been rewarding although intense, it is in many ways thought provoking, reflecting on present practice and planning new ways of delivery.”
“The PTLLS award is an extremely useful qualification. The practical
aspects of the course are highly enjoyable and also valuable for allowing
examination of the different techniques and approaches to delivery.”
At present, two more members of the SouthBank team are undertaking the qualification with Ashby Link Adult Education Centre.
